IT Administrator is responsible for overseeing the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and security systems to ensure that all IT systems operate efficiently, securely, and in accordance with company policies and standards

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Network Management: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software.

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

Ensure network reliability and availability.

 

System Administration: Manage and administer servers, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and server applications.

Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity.

Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.

Implement and enforce system security policies and procedures.

 

User Support: Provide technical support and assistance to users experiencing IT-related issues.

Respond to help desk tickets and resolve problems in a timely manner.

Train users on IT systems and applications.

 

Software Management:Install, configure, and maintain software applications.

Ensure software licenses are up to date and in compliance with legal requirements.

Manage software updates and patches.

 

Hardware Management: Procure, install, and maintain hardware devices, such as servers, desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.

Troubleshoot hardware problems and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.

Manage hardware inventory and asset tracking.

 

Security Management: Implement and maintain IT security policies, procedures, and controls.

Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

Monitor systems for security breaches and respond to incidents promptly.

Stay informed about current security threats and best practices.

 

Documentation and Reporting: Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Generate reports on IT system performance, usage statistics, and security incidents.

Maintain documentation up to date.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols, server administration, and IT security.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) may be advantageous.
