JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
Irrigation technician is responsible for installation, test, and maintain irrigation equipment including sprinklers, drippers pumps, water lines, and solenoid valves. Irrigation technicians may also be required to rectification of pipeline PVC HDP PPR etc for trenching and install wiring systems for irrigation timers.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspecting and loading irrigation equipment for the day’s work.
- Testing the valves, pumps to determine irrigation operations.
- Mapping out areas for irrigation installation.
- Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines.
- Installing pumps and electrical timers.
- Testing the irrigation system with the aid of computer software.
- Conducting routine maintenance checks.
- Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts.
- Completing progress reports and associated paperwork
QUALIFICATION
- 10th grade level.
- Basic English communication skills.
- Must have knowledge in cleaning items, chemicals, and machineries.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Ability to work in an environment with conditions which may include fumes, odour, gases, chemical and dust.
- Ability to move and lift items of moderate weight.
- Ability to stand for extended time periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop and crawl and ability to descend and ascend ladders, stairs and scaffolding.
- Ability to work more than duty hours and able to work on weekends, holidays and emergency condition if assigned.
- Ability to operate equipment and tools related to cleaning.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum (4) years’ Landscape experience locally in the UAE.
